Go Over the Edge for Scouting on Oct. 16!
Are you ready for the thrill of a lifetime?!
Be one of the select few who get to rappel down the side of the 17 story Irvine Marriott on October 16th. This is truly a “bucket list” item and the bragging rights are priceless!
This is a pledged based fundraising event with a minimum goal of $1,000. Go towww.ocbsa.kintera.org/ote to register and create a fundraising page and send to family and friends! Be creative – you can raise the funds to send a Scoutmaster “Over the Edge” or honor a recent Eagle Scout or celebrate a milestone birthday in your life.
We are continuing the district competition from last year and any amount you raise over the $1,000 minimum can go toward your Friends of Scouting goal!
(While there is a special incentive to raise the money by October 16th, you do have until 12/31/15 to complete the pledge).
In addition, we have a few rappelling spots available on scholarship for a Scout who might want to participate (need to be 14 or older). This is a great opportunity for them to be recognized if media are present!
Special incentive: For the participant that raises the most money by October 16th, you will be awarded a Delta airlines e-Gift Card worth $500.00 for airfare!
Limited Time Offer: We have 10 rappelling spots that have been given a scholarship for 50% of the fee – $500.
If you can pledge to raise the remaining $500 by the end of the year – you are in to go Over the Edge for Scouting.
Please contact Sally at firstname.lastname@example.org or 714-546-8558, x141 by Monday, October 12th!

Was your unit trying to hit a specific goal (all kids go to camp for free, new tents, camping equipment, Pinewood Derby Track, etc.) and hit it? Let us know! Please send stories and pictures to Kaleigh Teskey at Kaleigh.Teskey@scouting.org
Popcorn Performance of the Week: Parin’s Popcorn Plea – Parin, a Wolf Cub Scout, is raising money to earn a sleepover on the USS IOWA Battleship and for his Cub Scout Pack activities through popcorn sales.
Way to be creative and take initiative to meet your goal, Parin!
