  12. Parents have poor attitude because Program is not implemented Properly (work to help develop program with Unit Leaders)
  13. Don’t Participate in Scouting / Don’t Magnify their Callings (help them understand the “why” or get someone else)

PLANS (Description):

There is a lot to do to improve LDS Scouting.  It is a hit everything type approach.  The biggest issue is for Leaders to gain a testimony and understand how it fits into God’s plan to help strengthen the boys and adults to become Men of God.   The best approach I have found is to find Bishops who are willing and able to help the program improve.   With a few key leaders and boys in a Stake, we help a single program to be successful.  The power of influence then allows others to see that Scouting works when done properly.  This gives hope to other leaders.   The influence grows until all the programs (YM/Scouting) are working well and Scout (boy) led.

Overall Plans

#1 : Find other Converted Leaders and have them help build Scout Programs in Stakes (focus on Stake YM/Primary)

#2 : Build a model of best practices using existing material for leaders to help get started

#3 : Help other Leaders gain a testimony of Scouting

#4 : Help other Leaders become converted to the power of Scouting

#5 : Provide resources, best-practices, coaching, and training to help leaders and youth do Scouting well

#6: Help show YM and Leaders how Scouting prepares a YM for a service based life

#7: Help other leaders help their YM to have Spiritual experiences
